Pizza Palace SignJuly 2009 – After a 7 hour drive from Toledo to Knoxville, we were rushing to get to the Pizza Palace before closing.  We arrived with 20 minutes before closing, and boy was I glad we made it.  This place was fantastic.

They’ve got pasta, sandwiches and pizza of all kinds.  I ordered ravioli with a side of meatballs.  The portion seemed a little on the smaller side, but it was SO good, I just didn’t care.  The ravioli was good, and the meat sauce was flavorful and full of garlicy goodness, I was practically willing to eat the container it was sitting in.  Mel got the spaghetti and meatballs, which was using that same sauce, so it was also delicious.

We also couldn’t help but get a side of their famous onion rings and a milkshake.  Both lived up to their expectations.  We spent about $20 for the two of us to eat, and we had way more food than we could finish.  (I ate cold spaghetti sandwiches on the road the next day.)  While this place wasn’t exactly in a neighborhood I’d like to hang out in, it was definitely a place to go back to.  (Sorry for the lack of pictures.  I was on the road, and didn’t have the blog when I visited this place.)
